Need some help with mid-range

Post by bafukie »

Hi guys, there is something i cant seem to solve. Planning to add a midrange to my existing 2 way passive. Since i am not playing active and the midrange doesnt come with its own passive x-over, what can i do to set the midrange play a certain freq range only?

Buy an external crossover such as the Audiocontrol 24xs or similar
Alpine 9887 > Audiocontrol 6xs
PPI PCX-2200 --> Ti9 Elite mids (50-200hz)
PG M44 --> Dynaudio MD100 (4k+)
PG M44 --> CDT HD4 (200-4khz)
Voodoo V1600.1 --> DD9012

You can build your own passive x-overs if you want with the desired freq or just look on ebay for passive crossovers. They're cheap for the most part if you don't want to go active.
Head Unit: Eclipse CD5000
Amp1: Ti 500.4
Amp2: MPS2500
Crossover: Audiocontrol 6xs
High/Mids: ID CD1-E v1 Horns
Midbass: IDQ 6.5 v2
Subs: IDQ 12 v1
EQ: PG EQ215-X

Morel has a 3 way passive xover. This would probably be your easiest option.
