I disconnected the battery to remove my amps and stuff 2 days ago. When I reconnected it, everything was fine (the alarm went off like usual). I turned the key to the 'on' position, and everything looked okay. All gauges and dash light, as well as the radio, functioned like normal. However, as soon as I turn to the 'start' position, nothing happens. i can hear the ignition relay in my fuse panel clicking, but nothing else. I also noticed that the overhead dome light is not on. I am thinking that the alarm is preventing the car start? Does any one know how to (which wires) need to be removed in order to not allow it to affect the ignition of the car? All I need to do is to get it to start so I can drive it to an installer and have it fully removed.
Car: 2001 Impala
Alarm: DEI Hornet 732t
Here is an image of the exposed alarm, if it helps:
Try pulling the wire harness out of the alarm module and give it a try.
I wire all my alarms so if need be you can just pull the plug on the alarm and start as usual

Hmm... if you can hear your starter relay clicking, then I don't think it's immobilized. Check the positive cable on your starter... sometimes they come loose. Otherwise, check the starter itself.
Ill check the starter. I just removed the yellow wire off my ignition cable, so it should no longer be effecting the car. I went through all the fuses, and they seem fine.
The next thing I did was put the stock radio back in to try and access the settings menu. Now I cant get into that either.

Kind of defeats the purpose of an alarm if you can bypass is so easily dontcha think?
The alarm interrupts the starter wire only, not the ignition. If you can hear a relay click under the hood the alarm is not the problem. I would test the battery first. Dome light not working I would double check the door pins, and then check all of your fuses (under hood & under dash).
Were you careful when you reconnected the battery? I have had customers tow cars (Chevys) in that would do similar things & it ended up being a control module under the hood that fried when they reattached the battery. I think it was $400 or so to replace.
Yeah, I know it defeats the purpose of the alarm, but the damn thing has been nothing but problems. I would have checked the door pins, but car doesnt exactly have them. I believe it is controlled through the latch or something. I have gone through every fuse, but nothing is wrong there. I am beginning to think that it may be something computer related. I now cannot access the settings through the stock radio. I try to be as careful as possible the reconnecting the battery, but there was still that initial contact spark. Im pretty sure it is going in today. Problem is that I am moving to Chicago in 9 days, and dont have much money.
I finally tracked down the BCM last night, and removed the rest of the alarm. They really hacked that thing in there.
Now I have a current list of problems:
Wont start
Dome light now on
Lock buttons on door dont work
Cant access the settings on the stock radio

every one in both cabin fuse boxes (near both doors) and both underhood boxes. Nothin wrong with any of them. I think it is just going in today, as I have no idea what is going on. I guess will let you guys know what it was.
