Shallow Mount Anyone?

Post by deathcloud »

Last question about my dads truck. He has a Ford F-250 and was wondering what shallow mount subs would you guys recommend in the size 10 inch sub. Please let me know. My dad wants to get the rockford fosgate P3 shallow mount sub. I think he should step his game up and get the Diamond audio shallow mount sub.

Exile all the way!! He may even be able to fit the 12" Xtec shallow mount.

I personally love the 6.5" Xtec Comps.

I have an Exile Xtec. I like it, but I haven't used it much.

How much room do you have for mounting depth? Some subs avertise 5" shallow mount while others need 3", their is a big difference in selection.

I know someone who works as an installer in Car Audio. He installed JL's shallow mounts and thought the Rockford Fosgate flat subs sound better (His quote was something like 'it pains him to say it but...')

Are you kidding me? You think that the shallow mount P3 sub is better than the JL audio Shallow mount 599.00 dollar sub? I cant believe that... But I dunno maybe I will just get the shallow mount P3 sub.

I am going by his recommendation, I have not heard either of them.

I am more of SQ guy, personally I like the Exile XTEC10 that I have. Its not far off what my PG RSD10 does for output. Also the RSD10 is in a 0.6ft^3, box, my Exile is in 0.45ft^3 with some fiberglass (I had intended to have the Exile in a .50-.55 box, oops!)

Ok so I am getting a Zapco amp that specs is

Stereo, 4 ohms: 2x75 Watts
Stereo, 2 ohms: 2x150 Watts
Stereo, 1 ohms: 2x300 Watts
Bridged, 4 ohms: 1x300 Watts
Bridged, 2 ohms: 1x665 Watts

So he wants to run a rockford fosgate P3 shallow mount 300rms is that a good matchup? too much power?
