Thats what I so want to do. If I had time/money I would buy rsd65cs and have it hooked up to the front channel of my old infinity reference amp, then in the rear I would have it hooked up to the Ti 400.2 front and see if I or others can tell the difference. But thats just a thought. I just hope I can tell the difference when I get the Ti 400.2 2morrow! I will let you all know the difference from
INFINITY REFERECNE 7541A 4 channel amp
To
Phoenix gold Titanium 400.2 2 channel amp
Speakers are rsd65cs so I just hope I can be like WOW so clear! so great! i love PG!
instead of wow it sounds the same.. -_-

Ill just type this out in a easy to read way. Fact. Allot of automobiles DONT have 14.4volts. WHY buy an amp that WILL NOT produce the highest possible wattage due to your cars voltage uotput? A fix, buy an amp that CAN produce the its highest power capabilities with the voltage that not only your 12 volt car can produce, but also later down the road when or if you do buy a automobile than does have 14.4v you wont have to buy a entire new amp because you bought an amp that CAn work on ANY voltage plus it wont change the wattage out! to your speakers you bought with that amp!Bfowler wrote:oh...and XE.LOAD is way better then JL's RIPS PG just limits the output side instead of JL regulated power supply.
as said above. JL Amps have NOTHING over PG amps....well maybe more install friendly currently...but i think PG will figure it out
you mention that you don't like that PG amps NEED 14.4 volts to get your moneys worth...but think of it like this:
PG rates their amps at 14.4 volts at 300, 600, 1200 etc
JL rates their slash amps at 11.5 - 14.4 at 250, 500, and 1000
so even if you aren't giving your PG amps full 14.4 volts...they are still making the same power as JL amps at a lower price point. (and just as if not more cleanly with comparable features)
14.4 V amps are a headache. They need special ohm loads at special voltages to get the most out of that amp. If you have a 12v car and the amp needs 14.4 volts you will NEVER get full potential of that amp. So why bother? Especially when your car dont have a 14.4v output which most people dont even know about till they want to go hook up a car system and find the voltage isnt as high as the amp requires!. Seriously. if PG has something better than JL they better start using it cause the numbers show that Jl is saling a huge load of there amps because of these capabilities. Xtant was the first to do it I believe. And Xtant was known to be a real SQ amp.. So no, I dont think 14.4V is required these days..Hell back in the day there was no such thing as 14.4V amps. It was all 12volts...

you see, a JL 1000/1 will only achive 1000w no matter what...11.5 or 14, thats the ceiling no matter what...a PG rsd1200.1 will achive the "rated" 1200w at 12v...however, if you happen to have an electrical system that can give you 14v, then the PG can actually produce more than the "rated" power...it's nice to not have such a stuffing ceiling on yer amps capabilities. it would be an improvement for JL if, say, the 1000/1 could produce 1000w at 11.5v and ANYTHING MORE THAN THAT on a system that provides more voltage...fact is is that all amps should be rated at 12v with a secondary rating at 14.4vnick-caper wrote:Ill just type this out in a easy to read way. That makes sense. Rather than only having 1000 watts and that is that, you can have a lil headroom with the 1200.1 which is sick! and its wayyyyyyy cheaper.you see, a JL 1000/1 will only achive 1000w no matter what...11.5 or 14, thats the ceiling no matter what...a PG rsd1200.1 will achive the "rated" 1200w at 12v...however, if you happen to have an electrical system that can give you 14v, then the PG can actually produce more than the "rated" power...it's nice to not have such a stuffing ceiling on yer amps capabilities.

Come on guys, this isn't how I like to see arguments done on here. We discuss things by debating the point, not by belittling the opponent or stooping down to "brand x/y" sucks arguments. I don't want this place to turn into the "other" forums.
