Well, if you plan to run a full system from a 2ch amp, then yes, the XVRs are cool. But it doesn't really let you control the volume of your subwoofer independently. It's an oldschool part for an oldschool problem... there are enough cheap class-D sub amps nowadays that these are rarely ever used.

but if you had like a ti 1000.2 you could run everything from it.. so can you... tell it how much power to send where or does it literally divide of total power across the range of however many speakers you are running?

I would not use a XVR on any more then a total of 500rms power, it was not designed for high end , high power systems, the better options now is seperate amp. But if you building a pure sq system it's perfect.....

why would you say for a pure sq system its perfect? for the power reasons or is there something it does to help balance everything?

This is the 3rd time I am typing this , it keeps logging me off.

2 reasons I prefer it.,

1. A purpose built SQ system will not have a require emtn to adjust the sub bass, this allows this to integrate better into the car without the need for a fancy headunit and will not need constant fiddling with.

2. It sounds brilliant when coupled with a simple EQ, this allows for adjustments to be tweaked, but in allt here is less processing on the signal and to me makes the car sound more natural.
