Will 15V kill a ZPA 0.5
Will 15V kill a ZPA 0.5
Hi there, I am new to the forum and am glad to see it striving. I have two ZPA 0.5 amps and absolutely love them. Check out my sytem in my signature.
I recently installed an alternator vottage adapter (i.e. diode) that raises the voltage 0.6V of the alternator over stock. Now I am seeing about 14 to 15.2V consistantly at the battery. Will this have any longer term detrimental effects?
On that note, I couldn't believe how much better the stereo sounded...its never sounded better!!!! The bass is tighter and punchier. I can turn up the volume louder too now...guess I have to adjust the gains again (they are set at about 30% to 40% capacity now). I thought it was clean before...its even better now. Best $8 I spent in a while.

Another one bites the dust... Damnit!
My alt, a 135 ampere GM, has always started out at 15v for the first few minutes then drops down to 14.7 constant and I've never had any issues. As rolandk stated you'll be fine. Hell even at 16v you'd be fine, but that would be the limit.
A friend of mine had a Jacobs Accuvolt16 10 years ago and had a ZPA0.5 and a PPI amp running off of it at 16 volts. Never had any issues either. Those were the days.
How many peeps here remember the Jacobs Accuvolt????

"ZPA's will have the same sound essentially as you get from the MS, they just feature a bigger shinier set of balls."
