Just curious why you wouldn't run the fronts active it would sound better.
well that's kinda a loaded question or one that is difficult to answer.. as I am really not sure to be honest.. I think they are active/passive if it can be??? I have the HU X'ed at 80 or 125 for the HPF (high pass filter).. but also use the passive xovers (that came with the ID Gear)... so does that make me passsive or active, or is that "passactive" - i dunnno I kinda covered this question in a recent past thread but didnt get a clear answer I dont think.. or i forgot to go back and look... :o :D

BUT ALWAYS LOOKING FOR WAYS TO IMPROVE - Help A Brutha out - look out for'a Brutha!
That would be passive with a HPF.

I'm also running the ID Chameleons, only fully active - 200w to the midbasses, and 100w to the tweeter per side (the tweeter isn't actually taking all 100w, but anyway...). I'm still tweaking the x-over points, but they're roughly around 3.5kHz with a small gap.

I'm considering getting some 4" mids and running them passive with the stock ID crossovers and tweets with the 100w channels of my amp, and turning down the LPF on the midbasses to somwhere around 500Hz. It's just a matter of finding the right driver to match with the other components. Perhaps I'll have to get a different passive x-over.
