I have been attempting(aka forced into it) to design a logo for a school group called Human Performance Institute. I had been working on one for a while, and it looked good until someone found another logo very close to it. I spent today redesigning and came up with something, only to find another that may be too close to it. What do you guys think? Is logo 2 too close in design to logo 1?
(logo 1 is existing logo, logo 2 is what I worked on today)
They want to be able to see an 'h,p and i' in the logo, and it has to be embroidered (hence the lack of detail)
Stupid logo design (need opinions)

I like #1. It looks like a dood running. IMHO, logos don't have to resemble the name but when it works out that it can.........its kool.
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!
#1 looks like a tampon brand or something
They don't really look similar at all.
Your logo I think would look better without the thin line on the left side. Maybe put a dot on top of the guys "arm" to symbolize the I.
Like this... the P is still visible in negative space without the line, and the I looks like a hand and an I at the same time. The "hpi" is also built bottom-to-top and biggest-to-smallest in order.
