music CD images, is there any site providing them?

Post by lopezi »

I've been searching around and have not come across anything along this line, but I was wondering if any one/company is providing music CDs in a disk image format for download/purchase? I'm not interested in MP3s or any of that, I would like to find disk images available. I think it would be a great idea. DRM, who cares, it would be just the same as buying the actual CD, so no need to DRM it up.

Not that I know of. I know you can find a few on P2P programs, but that's pretty hit and miss. BTW, welcome to the phorum mang.

Thanks, just coming over from SB. It's too bad that no one is doing that, because I would purchase that any day over itunes or mp3s.

When you think about todays broadband speeds, it's retarded to still be distributing music in such a lossy format as mp3's.

Closest thing I've found so far is this site...
http://www.musicgiants.com/

they offer Lossless downloads, a little over $15 for a complete disc, which is roughly the cost of a CD, although most are 11.99 - 12.99, at least where I'm at.

At least it's a step in the right direction, lossless that is. Supposedly they're going to also offer 24bit 96khz downloads as well.
