I actually did an almost identical setup in a subaru legacy.

the ti500.5 is deffinetly the way to go.

of all the amps the i have heard power the RSD6.5's, that was the nices one.

we are going to enter this car in a SQ comp in the sumer just for shits, it sounds serioulsy nice for what he paid for the gear.

the amp was the most expensive part. 280 for a BNIB (even still had the LPL....{remember the good ol days when pg just included those with the amps, such memories})

on another note dragonplayboy..... how new is your rsd10D? i was going to buy a pair of them. i have a rsd10SVC with about 5 hours of play time on it. if you are wanting a SVC, i will gladly trade so i only have to buy 1 DVC

assuming your sub is new too, I might be ok with that, but you're covering shipping. remind me why that would be a good idea on my end?

It would be a good idea depending on which amp you go with. the sub you have now is Duel 4ohm which is better for running on the Xenon amp.
if you are using the the ti or the rsd amp, a 4ohm sub would be a better match.

I'm covering shipping? :P if we traded, why would i cover all the shipping?

cuz I'd just as soon run it at 8 ohms and not deal with driving up to UPS, that's why! ;)

Actually, the Ti amp has absolutely no problem with a 2 ohm bridged load. In fact, I swear mine loves it.

The speakers sound a great deal louder at 2 ohms bridged on my amp than 4. I just ran the pair of Tang Band 6x9's, and they were shamefully quiet at 4 ohms bridged (more on them tomorrow after I play with them some more). Similarly a single Xmax 12 doesn't keep up, but a pair of them can destroy me. The RSD 10 and IDMax 12 do great at 2 ohms as well...

well now I'm torn, I don't want to pound the poop out of anything, this is (primarily) for my wife and she listens to primarily pop/vocal/Christian music, should I run the sub at 8ohms on the rsd? should I trade bfowler and go 4ohms? dare I run it at 2? I really want musicality and clarity, I've grown far from my bass-tronics "20 hurts" days... :)

also, anyone familiar with the scion tC know what enclosure location works best (deciding between up against back of back seat or fg enclosure in side corner or under trunk liner next to spare tire...), and what direction the driver should face?

i would recommend you run a single 4 ohm rsd on the bridged rear channels of the rsd500.4. then play around a little with the sub placement, although i wouldn't think it would make drastic differences in that hatchback.
