Today I got threatened with arrest for the first time ever!

Post by mr tibbs »

All for saying "yeah" three times. Yep, the keystone cops around my old man's place are really tough. Long story kinda short:

My old man is having property disputes at his house. He closed a dirt road that is next to his property because the neighbor asked him to because she had obtained permission from the city. Some schmuck that is a nephew of the mayor of this po dunk town showed up and started cutting down the chains we put up. So, there was an altercation there until the old lady next door showed up and told the guy he is a liar and bla bla bla. After the old lady left the guy came over to my old mans house, parked broadside in his driveway and started to threaten to kick my dad's ass and all that jazz. I was not there for any of that, I had already left for the day.

So, that all happened on Friday. Now today we tried to call the sheriff to make a complaint, but of course they would not answer the phone, imagine that! So, we went over to the station to file the complaint. After waiting for about a half an hour a deputy (we'll call him deputy Fife) finally showed up. My dad started to explain what was going on and finally my brother had to get his two cents in. Of course he started to go wayyyyyyy overboard and a yelling match insued between my brother and deputy Fife. So, he kicks my brother out, I have yet to say a word. So, my dad continues with his story and things start to get a little heated because Fife has yet to write anything down or seem interested at all. We had pictures of the guy cutting the chain and everything, Fife took one look at them and handed them back. Anywho, my dad stands up and Fife gets in his face, this is when I stand up and he confronts me. He starts yelling at me to get out of the station, "what the hell for??!!" I yelle dback. He told me that as my dad was talking I was saying "Yeah, yeah, yeah". Well, that just wasn't good enough for me so I wouldn't leave. He then said he would arrest me if I didn't leave. "Go ahead and arrest me for saying yeah" I told him. He was in my face trying to stare me down but it just wasn't working for him. After about 20 seconds of trying to stare me down he went back to try and talk to my dad. I guess that is the tactic they are trying to teach them here in Utah.

I doubt anything will be done about this asshole threatning my dad. God I hate corrupt little towns.

I had 6 cops "raid" my apartment and at least 20 more (including SWAT) downstairs apparently.

Interestingly enough, they never threatened us with arrest... :)
