Hey Morgan!

Not to sound critical but rather inquisitive .. What's special about it? Looks like standard fair. Common basket and motor. Paper cone with big overall dustcap. High excursion. Decent power ratings. Anything you can tell us besides that it will hurt you? Will price make this anymore desirable then a mirad of others with similar specs and looks?

Enlighten us!

That was my first thought exactly.... RE uses a similar basket for the SX subs. Those pound hard.....if ya can power them right.

How does it sound on power like a TI1200.1?

Greg,

Good questions. We have strong reputation for delivering high powered amps. 1200.1 and 2400.1s are not easy for us to keep in stock. Dealers and Intl guys have been asking for high power/excursion woofer they can hang off our big amps.

I could baffle you with bullshit about a bunch of fancy motor talk, but lets face it. Speaker technology for woofers really hasn't changed much over the years, regardless of the marketing fluff. Goal of this driver is to move air, and a lot of it! You need two things cone area and excursion.

For this driver, we chose not to custom tool a lot of cosmetic parts. The motor has been engineered from head to toe for performance. Demo'd in a vented box on the sales floor, woofer is extremely impressive. Would even make a nice home sub too, I am thinking of using one.

First production run just sold out. Time to make some more. BTW: Made in USA.

Yep, its an open tool basket. We would have done a custom tooled diecast basket, but its just crazy money for the tooling, especially a 15. Then no one sees it when its mounted in the box, just couldnt justify it.

So now we judge/rate subs by their baskets??? :?

Yet to see a price point.

And for excursion, I saw a video a month ago that the subs had around 5" (P/P) of excursion, and there's no new motor tech out. Well, ....OK, so the surround isn't a motor, but...

I'm kinda lost... is it a dual 4 ohm woofer or a dual 2 ohm? In the site it says dual 4 ohm, but in the manual it says dual 2 ohm.

EDIT - in the site is says 4 ohm DVC... so I'm guessing it's a dual 2 ohm, in series to be a 4 ohm DVC.

Eh...I see it's already been asked, but what is the price? Where does one buy exile audio?

I saw a dealer zip code search and it says there are no local dealers...are there no online dealers?

Yea, the model number on the site is BIG15D2, D2 = dual 2 ohms.
4 ohm DVC usually means 4 ohm dual voice coil....as in each coil is 4 ohms...somewhat confusing...

There's the manual...dual 2 ohm.

Nope, just kinda boring seeing the same basket all the time, but it does cut down on costs none the less.. Looks decent.

Its dual 2 ohm, we will fix it on website.

Weighs about 50LBs. Full Retail is $700.00, Street around $550-$600.

Not a cheap woofer and not for everyone, but provides some pretty intense output.
