Im running a KDC-MP4032 for the last 2yrs or so. i never thought id stray from alpine, but with the features on the kenwood i couldnt pass it up, the price was the selling feature 4 me. had everything my old alpine had and tons more 4 a 1/4 of the price.i cant find the manual right now but its designed for windows media, with external media control. has hp/lp filters and eq and sounds great. oh, its 4v preout. nothing 2 fancy but i like it alot. hope that helps you out abitMackenzie wrote:I am keeping a budget in mind, so maybe more so the 7 series or below.. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-KENWOOD-KDC-MP7 ... 286.c0.m14

Wow I think I just got sold on getting a kenwood deck.... never thought I would get one either. I thought kenwood was cheap and alpine was bomb. Guess i was wrong. Anyways I got my deck CDA-9855 Alpine deck back in 05 so I think it is time to upgrade anyways.
That kenwood excelon looks pimp.
I want one that has great features, sounds great and also something that i will not have to replace in a while.
Is this a good one? I want 24 bit burr brown cuz I hear so much about it.
I also want a good EQ and at least 3 pre outs minimum 4 volts
Is this good or could i find better.

Alpine built up quite a reputation over the years, and deservedly so. Unfortunately, a lot of the customers that I deal with have become so unquestionably loyal to Alpine that they can't seem to see the value in anything else. It's actually quite ironic because anything short of Alpine's best units really can't compare to most Premier or Excelon head units that are also quite a bit less expensive.deathcloud wrote: I thought kenwood was cheap and alpine was bomb.
To disable the demo mode, set the clock, and a few other features you must first put the deck into STANDBY by scrolling through the scources. After that simply access the menu as you normally do and you'll find what you're looking for.
And Mack, I know you will somehow be able find the will power to resist the temptation of turning on those damn flickering blue lights on your new deck!
What you said!dedlyjedly wrote:Alpine built up quite a reputation over the years, and deservedly so. Update! Ive been using the usb now for a couple days, and I am never using a cd in my car again. I feed the usb wire into my glove box, and bought a flashdrive from bb for cheap, and I am happy with the results. No longer will I be lugging my 100+ cd case.
The deck displays all the artists nicely, and its fast, so I dont have any issues going through files on the flash drive. Now I just got to get these runs of 0 guage, and my 18s

sharp, i like it, im tryn to figure out something similiar in my audi, except under the center armrest, thats where my ti voltage display and bass cube remote are, but i rarely find the need to turn the cube on; 2 rsdc10 ported box, with rsd 1200.1,
as she walked out the door she expressed, 'enjoy your amp addiction'
