Welcome to Vermont all...in case you haven't heard, it snows here..alot of the year...however I must warn you...just because someones lived here FOREVER doesn't mean they've learned to drive in snowy conditions...There are three kinds of drivers in winter weather... drum roll please...
1.) The absolutely paraniod freaked out driver who drives 20mph at all times in a dusting..Their seat is positioned all the ay forward, all the ay up, hands at 10 and 2 as the peer over the steering wheel as if trying to see through an artic white out...Probably has their has hazards on to be "more visible" and swears emphatically as you pass buy...I figure this group accounts for about 55% of the driving population...
2.) The incredibly hazardous "I don't care how bad it is cause I gut me a 4x4 t-ruck." . Usually a guy wearing mostly camo who honestly believes he's invincable. Most likey has a buddy or two with him eggin him on as the make life more difficult for everyone and despite the fact taht he ends up off the road EVERY YEAR, he figures at this point the odds are in his favor , if he even know what "odds" are in the first place. This fine group makes up roughly 40%.
3.)The remaining 5% is The safe responsible driver who knows the roads, knows the conditions, knows his abilities and knows his vehicle. This person does his best to travel at a safe speed. They may have 4 wheel or all wheel drive but as my pepere always told me in a thick french accent "4 wheel drive don't help ya stop much..." . This person has it the roughest of all because not only do they have conditions to handle, but they also have to avoid the forementioned drivers on the road.
I love winter, I've lived in VT all my life and was taught how to drive here. I have a great jeep with over 300hp and killer 4 wheel drive system but was tought how to use it. I know Im not the best driver on the road (Im 25, like my metal music crankin, and like to go fast..) but Im not stupid either....is it really that hard?? is it that complicated? Haven't we all been driving in adverse conditions long enough to get a friggin clue?????? I hate to sound like a whiner but I just drove home in the season's first substantial storm and it was ridicouls...
whats your take??
Ignorance behind the wheel...

P-town is funny. All it has to do is threaten snow and the city shuts down.
I think you forgot to alocate 2% to the people that know what they're doing and go out to "play" in the snow. I always go out and play at night on the side roads and parking lots. Drifting around corners and doing kookies is just too much fun. As long as yer not a dumbass about it that is.

Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!
dude nothing ever beats this one.....
Portland Oregon, we had like 3-8 inches of snow depending on where you were. Keep in mind when it snows here there is always ice underneath. This happened on a relatively steep hill, but people still felt they could make it...

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

I've seen that vid before...friggin' hilarious. and yes I also qualify as the small percentage taht go out and have fun in the snow...my jeep has quadratec all time 4 wheel so its harder to get the tail goin...but hey I love a challenge
back when I first got my liscence I was foolin around the day after christmas...took a hard left and was fishtailing hard, corrected, swung the other way, OVER corrected, did a full 360 and ramped up over the 2.5 snowbank and bashed an old ford pickup that was snowed in...crazy ride...learned my lesson though
