Dont know about the rest of you guys but i might have to pick one up. I loved the old school HCCA stuff. PG need to bring back ome things from the good old day.

But they DID that with the MS TA's already
wasnt the TAs just PG clearing out old gear they had in surplus....... I just wish PG could come up with some better looking gear hen they have right now .... IMO the amps they have right now look cheep and just dont grab me. Not to say that the new stuff is not a good performer
..... u never know..., it would be really cool if theyd put all the rsd amps under a cover like the roadster?????!!!! or, i wish theyd bring back zx line-thats my wish-C

Nope... the TA's were a remake of the original MS series, with quite a few differences actually. For example the 2250's were detuned so they can be run without a shroud at 4 ohms bridged. I believe they took a higher input voltage as well.
What truly would be interesting, is if these new hccas could go down to the 1/4 ohm load, or even 1/8ohm load?, as the originals-i had a hcca4225, and let me tell you that when i say it go soooo hot u could fry an egg onit, that is no exaggerration

As nice as a MS rebirth would be I know a few people including myself that would like to see an anniversary edition of all the M series amps...perhaps all gold rather than the gold/white? justa thought
Is this where Im supposed to write something catchy??

HOT isnt the work for it my best friend in HS leaned down with all his weight across a 225 DR series and branded himself (for a few days) with part of the 225 digital reference logo and part of the heatsink fins he didnt do that again

Matt From PG said that there are going to morph A New LE Amp this year And I am kinda excited to see what it is
He did mention that its going to to be from the rsd line of course
been collecting equipment since the late 80's and on the 4th of jan 2009 my garage was broken into and all i have left is a 1 4x6 speaker out of my work truck not a good way to start off the new year
i asked about a comp. component line, and think they are doing one, but i dont really know-( i think they are gonna change the covers on the rsd line-not a new line up, but i guess well see)

funny this topic is being discussed.. it wasnt just earlier today (or maybe yesterday now) I was thinking that it would almost be time for a twentith (20th) anniversary edition of MS to come out shortly. Given I am a PG FanBoy partial to MS, I would think along those lines, but maybe it gets like one of those deals "enough is enough already", gotta let it go at somepoint I guess.
Regardless though, for me, I would like to see some new colors, and new spec's for MS gear. somethings that they left off from before or just didnt do... 1) is a bigger 4 channel, MQ-475, or MS-475 or something... (kinda like just another 4-channel anyways. The MS1000 doesnt really get considered a 4 channel amp technically speaking... Nor the FAS either.
but what can you do, I'm not sure i'll break from the MS gear...

as sweet as a "revival" woud be, do you think it'll actually happen...with te amps being made overseas, and do you think the current owners have the same vision as past ones did who made all the classics? and do you think there's a big enough market it these days to take on a project like that? I wish there was...but somehow I figure they're not going to do it just for us...although they should
Is this where Im supposed to write something catchy??
They might....at least a limited edition run....would be feasable...500 units...or even a 1000 units....
Who knows. I mean they may not, but from a money stand point, Rodin/PG should know that there are diehard fans like us, they can remanufacture...and price them at the 899 like the LE Editions of the past amps, and still make a good killing.
and, they do watch this phorum, so, maybe we post it more and more more, till they get tired of seeing it- i know the economy is bad, i still have no job-awaiting an offer today even, but the market is still there, the problem is the negative perception everybody has about china made, yeah sure I wish they still made them here, but i have not had a single issue with the rsd amps i have; when put to the test for almost a year now!!!!!!!!!!! Never even clipped one once!!!!! so, i was skeptical at first about the rsd, but now im a believer again;even when the olf pg dealer in orlando heard the rsd1200.1, he couldnt belive the OUTPUT/CLARITY!!!! hes just being loyal/switching to dls, which sounded damn good upon a listen(thinkit was the A4 amp)

FYI they aren't assembled in China, but in South Korea, along with JL Audio and several other brands.
At best, the amps were only ever assembled here. All of the electronic components were and are still made overseas. It makes much more sense as a profit seeking company to have the amplifiers assembled there as well, where all of the components come from anyways. This lowers costs dramatically, so they can still compete against other manufacturers who moved overseas years ago. If PG remains competitive and profitable, this is our best chance in having them continue to produce quality amplifiers.
If PG didn't move their manufacturing overseas, then at best they would have to be trimmed down to a boutique brand for discerning audiophiles who demand domestic production. However, that market has pretty much dwindled to nothing over recent years, since people looking to put a stereo in their car generally want just a DVD/Nav headunit and some coaxials. These people will not buy what is best, but what is cheapest.
It's an unfortunate consequence of our cost-slashing consumer market. People have come to expect lower and lower prices, and quality has suffered because of it. We are lucky PG still engineers their products here, to the same level as their older amplifiers, while most other brands have turned to cookie cutter designs from the build houses. Also fortunately, aside from the first batch Xenon issues, build quality seems to be par or better than before. I think I can count on one hand the number of Octane, Ryval or RSD amp failures we've had on the forums.
So as long as PG still does their engineering here, I think we will be ok. We just need to come to terms with the fact that car audio isn't the game it used to be. This is the unfortunate circumstance of its movement away from DIY audiophiles to general consumers.
I AGREE!! but , in times like this, someone, with the right financing, right marketing, engineering could still change it( the industry), sometimes fortunes, ideas, in times like this, are so drastic, so innovative, that it changes- im begining to wonder if apple ipod( dont get me wrong i own one) hasnt caused the industry to revolutinize its thinkiing, manufacturing etc., think about it......., the sq isnt bad when i play my ipod, but every1 is now thinking its the best in us -what do i know?, i dont even have a job right now, noone wants to employ commonsense anymore, just yes sir, whatever you say sir( eventhought they tell u to drive over a cliff)ok, im done sorry , im off my soap box-
