...,seems like somehow, someway, we all trade items around-never got to hear one, saw a couple back in the day at the shop, but , u know"salad days" were exciting , when i really think back( cant remember if salad days was minor threat or fugazi-), driving every month or so th the old shop to see what new came in, kid in a candy store, sooo sad, i can now say ive been driving for 23 years, thast unreal 2 me

I know what you mean. I could never afford the Ti stuff when I fell in love with it at my local shop, I had to wait 10 years to get it. The Clone was nice, don't get me wrong. I just don't want some kid in his moms car to tell me "yeah it sounds good, but mines louder". Plus after hearing how low those 12s went, there was no doubt in my mind that the Cyclone was unnecessary. I'm gonna miss having something so rare apart of the system, but, as I've said before, I choose functionality over appearance.

But where does collectability fall for you?

I bought mine in non-working condition just for the collectors purpose.
Going to give it the "nico" clean up when I get the bathroom done and the nerve to attempt it.

Collectability isn't functionality. I'm not collecting (expensive) unuseful items just yet. I have to finish this project before I reach that step.

I´m not a collector as well! I´m not going to stash those items away! Not the cyclones and for sure not my SOFAS. I can´t wait to put them in my car power em and use them for what they were built for!

Corey, i wasnt giving u grief over the clone- really what im saying is how cool , when they , pg, were willing to take a huge step in development, can u imagine what it costs r&d, & marketing from the ground up on that project??? Can u imagine if they would of just continued in that direction, never stopping with ideas? we may have the tornado V3! just what ifs

After I build up the nerve to tear mine apart, when it's finished I plan on building a box for it w/a plexi window on one of the sides to show it off at some of the sound off events that the local store holds every year.

Need to get these "out there" so people know about them. So I got it for collectability and to show off.

It was not hard! If you have an extra set of hands, it helps tho when taking that coil out...cuz the magnet is Extremely strong. Someone to hold the clone down, and one to pull the coil out.

Also something to add, to the part where you have your negative and positive wires, just unscrew the terminals and whala you dont have to worry bout that back piece yanking on the cables etc...it's an extra step...and it adds more time, but in the end it's safer (imo).

I am usually not a geek when it comes to taking things like this apart, but it REALLY WASN'T That hard. Just follow the rest of Nico's guide and such...should take you thru most everything else very easily.

No, I'm going PG spec on the box, even though it doesn't seem like it, I'm trying for SQ. Maybe Sq with balls is more appropriate. I really don't have the room for 9 amps otherwise. If I go with 100+ sq inches on the port, the subs won't play as flat as I want them to.

I'm waiting for the 3rd sub to arrive, and I've got to build the wall, but pics will come. I might do some building this sunday.... I still need 2 400.2s but I'm kinda tapped out for now after buying all this extra equipment. I tried to get a 400.2 the other day, but the guy was keeping it in salt water and it was worthless cosmetically.

Pity they didn't measure out right in the corners. Oh well, it's only minor cosmetics. Is that 1" birch? If it's any less than that you might consider double stacking the face. I've seen elites pull the threads loose on 3/4".

Box must be top heavy! Are you planning any ballast for the bottom? Or will it be secured? I would hate to see it go flying over the seats in a crash.

The box measured fine, I just don't like doing jig work if I can help it. When building a wall its hard to bend the car to your wishes. Measure, Cut, Measure, Modify. I know plenty of tricks to clean up any misgivings with the box. I had to glass the magnets in because of the seat line being so close to the roof. All walls are ugly till there done. As far as the subs falling out, I can't see it happening with Birch, dry wall screws really hold. But I do plan on bolting the subs in. The wall is cut so close it takes a mallet to get in but it will be bolted in as well. As for ballasts I think there will be batteries in the bottom of the box. I don't know until I get a final volume.
