PG RSd 5cs or DA HEX S500s?

Post by Capital_M »

Would would you get, the HEX is like 4 times the price, but its RMS is 150watts where as the RSD is only 60watts.

I dont want my RSD12 / x600.1 to over power the front

Are the RSD's underrated? Can I send 100 watts to them no problem?

Honestly you can disreguard most rating on comp speakers. Most any, even cheaplly made comps can take 100 watts of clean power. With that being said the rsds should have no problem taking the power, and much more. As for the diamond hex's, I was not impressed by them, nor have I been with anything they have made quite honestly.

Really huh?

What specifically? lack of mid bass? harsh tweets?

What I have been hearing about the RSD's is INSANE midbass even from the 5.25's and nice smooth tweets.

And with the 70 dollar price tag, it's just too sweet.

The lack of midbass, and harsh tweets mainly. I would put money on the rsds out performing them for 1/4 the price..

Can I ask why you are going with 5.25s instead of 6.5s. If your seeking some good midbass, i suggest you move on up to the 6.5s. I have never been a fan of 5.25s.

With minimal mods you can easily make 6.5s fit in the 5.25 slots.

You can simply cut a little sheetmetal with some hand cutting tools, and mount the 6.5s. Takes about 5 minutes.

Well I personally will not be installing this stuff, Ive got no good tools and with work, not a lot of time. I'll have to get a price on mouting 6.5's in a 5.25 kick panel from a shop.
