RSDC 6.5" Components any good?

Post by 5.9Limited »

Finally buying parts to build my starter system...should I bother with The Rsdc 6.5's? Or should I go with something more $$ to avoid upgrading later? Tell me what you think as far as SQ and power handling is concerned...
Is this where Im supposed to write something catchy??

There a little bright in my car, but the midbass is amazing! I know how to attenuate them if you want though. I think they are very nice. Not as SQ as the Ti6 though....

True.....but 1/3 the cost.

If you've read the many threads about this subject, you'll find that this set is the best bang for yer buck. I love the way they sound. They ARE abit bright for awhile until ya break em' in. I'm waiting on the new RSdC component set to be released.........

And yer ALWAYS gonna want to upgrade.......it's just the nature of the beast.....
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

thanks guys...I guess Im gonna go for it...considering the price, and my budget these should sound good and leave some $$ for accessories (cables , d block, wiring etc.)

and yeah...I realize I'll be upgrading at some point fuzzy...like you said, its just the way it goes...in perfect world I'd be putting Ti6's in the front...maybe 9's if I could fit em somewhere...

i know ever1 thinks im crazy when i say this, but i luv my rsdcs better than my ti comps, just my opinion, the price is right-go for it, and enjoy them-i do not use the supplied passive xover, i run them active at 24db/octave-was worried the tweet would be too bright, but im really impressed with them, and feel they arent in my car

Dude I have never actually heard them but judging by the responses on the phorum from guys who do have them, hands down, give em a shot. For under a 100 bucks dude where can you go wrong? For that price, if you dont like em, big deal, its pennies.

So what's the deal on fixing the "brightnest" sound, I assume the tweeters. I have a set of these going in my car this spring.

i use a mx3i external xover, but also have used the internal crossover on the tweets from my zx475ti-if u use the amps internal xover, u need a 4channel amp that has a multiply by 10 button-that way u can xover the tweets 3200khz to 4khz, and if external xover, u just need to switch ur amps to bypass mode(thus ur feeding ur amps signals from and external processor), or u can use the supplied passive xover; i just recently switched to active, seems like more output that way to me

Yeah, the passives come set to +2db, and can be adjusted to 0db, which is what I did. Just look in the manual, it'll tell you exactly how to adjust them. Really, it's as simple as flicking a switch.
