input cap diameter?

Post by Jacampb2 »

Does anyone recall the diameter of the PS input caps on the Ti amps? I am about to order my upgrades for the Ti800's, and forgot to measure. 600.2, 500.4, 1200.1, 1000.2 are all the same IIRC. I know voltage and value, but need diameter only.

TIA!

Actually, I think 18mm might be a bit to large too. Randy and I are discussing it... He was thinking ZX amps (I think)

Thanks though,
Jason

I measured mine with calipers this morning, Ti600.2, Ti1200.1, and Ti800.1 are all 16mm diameter. The Ti800 ones I had out on the bench, and measured height as well, they are 21mm tall. Anyhow, 18mm should fit, but the factory ones are 16mm.

Pics, as requested by Randy.

Image

Here are the caps in the Ti1200.1

Image

Here is one of the ones pulled from the Ti800.1

Image

Same as previous, but length measurement

Image

This is one from my TO3 Ti600.2

All of these appear to be the 21mm tall ones as well. Now in defense of numbers quoted previously, my Ti400 I had open today hade 18mm caps in it, as did my ZX450 and ZX250. My Ti1000 had the 16mm ones but some hack had put a mix of old 18mm caps in it as well, evidently in an attempt to trouble shoot...

Later taters,
Jason
