I am impressed. That is so clean it makes me wish I had a car to put an install in. I especially like how the wires go through grommets in the sides, even though none of that is seen with the cover on. Attention to details is what I think makes an installation great.

Don't tell me that - he's offered some help and advice with mine in return. I know it won't be a quick job with me involved, but I'd like it finished for the end of the century

Have you got any build pics then Mark? I love the finished product, but I'm always interested in how it got there.

that goes to the dd10 that resides in the right hand side cubby hole, on the left side lives the focal crossblock. i'm not quite finished with trimming these bits so no pics yet.. got to add an rmd in there too just to finish things off.

initially i made it in one piece but then realised i'd never be able to trim it in one piece :idiot: so split it in 2 and trimmed them seperately..

also made a perspex ring to add some lighting at a later date, will do the same on the amps, there enough room to have a couple of strips of perspex/leds in there as there's about 5mm gap.

I figured but was not sure. I had a similar problem on the top panel of my truck where it was a strange shape that wood just wouldn not do. I found that after making the wood braces that the material wouldn't lay straight enough which was going to result with alot of filling and sanding which looks like you had the same issue. I actually covered the wood braces with a piece of posterboard trimmed to fit and stapled in place, then layed my material on top of it. I saturated them both with resin to make one piece and had very little sanding as it layes straight on top of the cardboard.

I like the smooth transition between the two, as simple as it looked I knew it was not that easy....... It often the little parts that make it hard huh?
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
