Hello all, need some adv. i have had some RSd 10in subs installed and the dude did not put them in a box. sounds ok but it could be louder with a box just dont know what cu in that i need>? and if its to big then what could i do to reduce size?
also what do i fill it with foam or cotton before i seal it.. thanks

first off, you shouldn't be playing them without the box. they are tough subs, but they wouldn't take abuse like that for too long. when you do get a box, you will want it to be right at .6cf. it can be about .1 +or-, but .6 is idea. if you have to make it smaller, you can glue pieces of wood inside the box to take up space.
you can use either foam or cotton, but if the box is the right size, it isn't really necessary. it is used to deaden internal waves.
if you use foam, just put a layer on the back wall. if you use cotton/poly fill, just put a loose pile into the box

thanks for the help on my situation, also thier is one mroe thing.
i know i am going to add a box and on a boat i know its going to be diffrent but whould the box help to project my bass out more or should i port it, or maybe i should just stick with a plain sealed box?
and it might be hard with space but i dont know i want some opinions if you can understand were my pic of the behind the sub...
