Can't go with the Xenons then, need bass up to around 70-80hz as I will only have 5.25" for midbass. Sigh, I don't know what the hell I want. Too damn many choices.

2. Alpine swx-1242d $499
3. Cerwin Vega Stroker pro 15 $1499
4. PG RSD 12 $159

Those are the retail prices as I recall, I'm sure you can buy any of the 4 cheaper than that...
How amazing is that! Number 4, PG, at a tenth of the cost of the number 3. Geez, if that doesn't speak volumes for this sub, I don't know what does.

Did the cerwin vega even score a shitload better?...i have this review but am not sure which issue its from.

I love myself some RSd...I remember how worried everyone was before any of us experienced it too...funny to think back a little to that.

I can't find a link for it, I'll keep looking. It's been in every Car Audio and Electronics magazine for the past year though.

Ok, you guys had better be right. Just purchased 2 - rSD12d 12's off ebay. So I'm going to be using my x600.1 @ 4 ohms. When setting my gains, should I set it for 600w or 700w output on the dmm? I know these things are capable of up to 800w at 4 ohms, so I want to squeeze all I can into these. How are these things ported? Really love to try a ported setup, always ran sealed myself.

you can us the DMM for a little over 700.

the xenon amps like a lot of input currant. im running a little over 10 volts into mine. so dont be afraid to turn up the sensitivity a little higher then you are used to if you arent using a line driver.

there is no reason that they wouldn't perform well in a ported enclosure, but i have never done it.

1 sealed was loud enough for me. as a rule of thumb, we have figured out that a rsd12 + 600watts + 1.8 sealed box =135db of ultra clear low bass (on music, not tones) so i guess use that as your barometer as to weather you should go ported for more output, or if that's loud enough for you

They're here. And they really don't look all that beefy. Hope they live up to the hype. So the consensus is to run them in a 3.6 cu. ft. sealed box instead of porting them even though I only have the 1 x600.1?

yeah, the looks are definitely underwhelming. i think you will be surprised when you get power to em

1.8 each will give them flatter response, but you might be able to squeeze and extra DB or 2 if you went a tad smaller. I personally like them quite a bit at 1.8
